Kathy Bresler
Founder and Consciousness Concierge, Altar, Chicago
Kathy Bresler, the visionary founder and consciousness concierge of ALTAR, a sacred clubhouse for women changing the world, embodies the essence of transformation and empowerment. Armed with a Kellogg MBA and an ordination as an inter-spiritual minister from One Spirit Seminary, Kathy brings a powerful blend of business acumen and spiritual wisdom to her work. Her journey took an unexpected turn when a cancer diagnosis at 38 gave her the permission to deviate from the prescribed path and explore her lifelong passions for spirituality and psychology. Drawing inspiration from channelled material and guided by her deep interest in metaphysics, Kathy discovered the life- altering practice of SoulCollage® in 2007, becoming a dedicated practitioner and facilitator since 2008.
In 2012, Kathy co-founded LiFT (living in flow together), a thriving women’s circle that continues to gather biweekly at ALTAR, fostering an intergenerational community where women uplift and empower one another. ALTAR, her brainchild born in 2020 amidst lockdown, has blossomed into a co-creative, communal space—a sanctuary for courageous self-discovery.
In 2004 she became a certified Pathwork Helper. Drawing on the wisdom of the Pathwork teachings, Kathy expanded her capacity to support individuals in their spiritual and psychological healing journeys. As a Pathwork Helper, Kathy adeptly combines art, psychology, and spiritual practice, creating a nurturing environment where women can explore their inner landscapes and embrace the journey of becoming fully themselves. Her commitment to lifelong learning and professional development reflects her passion for guiding others towards a more conscious and fulfilling existence, both personally and professionally.
Kathy’s ultimate mission is to cultivate an intergenerational community where women uplift and empower one another.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Kathy cherishes her role as a loving wife and mother. She met her husband on the first day of her first job after college, and together they have lived in Chicago for most of their 32-year marriage, blessed with a son named Alex and a daughter named Abby.
Kathy’s commitment to her family, her own personal growth, and creating a nurturing space for women to thrive embodies the heart and soul of ALTAR.
